Why Chant in Sanskrit?

Why Chant In Sanskrit?

It’s true that one can chant effectively in ANY language, and gather great benefits if the basics are there, such as breathing slowly and deeply, focusing on a positive idea, principle, or energy, and allowing oneself to be immersed in the process. This itself can be transformative..

Sanskrit

Sanskrit is an ancient root language that has been around for thousands of years, There is a history of evidence which validates the claims made about the language and its effect on the body and mind. The sounding of Sanskrit creates specific pressures and vibrations in the mouth, sinuses, and head. They impact the energy of the entire body in very specific ways.

The pressure points in the mouth (roof of the mouth, tongue, lips, etc.) are stimulated in a way similar to reflexology for the hands and feet. This gives the added benefit of energetic stimulation, We should attempt to use the original pronunciation as much as possible in order to reap even higher benefits.

But don’t let pronunciation stop you! We benefit from the type of breathing we do when chanting, the meditative state we can achieve, as well as focusing on the intention of the chant. We experience these mental and physical benefits whether or not we’re butchering the language. So Chant On, Worry Free!
